Choosing a gaming desk and chair: size, cooling, price
How to measure and choose a chair and a desk. Based on 6 gaming chairs and 2 gaming desks on Dona: from 547,000 to 3.2 million UZS.
Setting money aside for a monitor and keyboard and leaving the chair for “later” is a common mistake: if you sit at a computer five hours a day, back pain gets in the way more than even the most expensive graphics card. The Dona catalogue has 6 gaming chairs (from 864,000 to 3,240,000 UZS) and 2 gaming desks (2,808,000 and 3,168,000 UZS). Here is what to look for in them.
Chair: three measurements matter#
Seat width and depth. When you sit, there should be two fingers of space between the back of your knee and the edge of the seat. If the seat is too deep, its edge presses on the blood vessels and your legs go numb. This measurement varies by model, so ask about it in the live stream.
Backrest height. A high backrest (reaching above the shoulder blades) supports the shoulders and neck. Most gaming chairs are made this way and come with a headrest pillow.
Armrests. Height-adjustable armrests line up with the keyboard height. If fixed armrests do not fit under the desk, you cannot pull the chair close to the desk, and this is the most common disappointment.
Desk: depth decides everything#
If you use two monitors or a large mousepad, the desk should be no shorter than 120 cm. But depth matters more than length: the monitor should be 60-70 cm from your eyes, so the desk should be at least 60 cm deep. On a 45 cm deep desk a 27-inch monitor sits too close and your head turns left and right as you work.
A hole or a channel at the back of the desk for gathering cables is handy. This is also easy to see in a live stream: ask the seller to show the desk from the back.
For those who work on a laptop#
If you do not need to replace the whole desk, a cooling stand is a cheaper solution: it lifts the laptop at an angle, the screen comes closer to eye level and air flows under the body. Models with fans make noise, but they lower the body temperature during a long gaming session.

What you can see in a live stream#
Chairs and desks are the category that is worst to choose from photos, because what matters is in the dimensions and the materials. In a live stream ask the seller for specifics: how wide the seat is in centimetres, how far the backrest reclines in degrees, whether the armrests adjust in height, whether the wheels are for parquet or for carpet. For a desk: length and depth, whether the legs adjust, whether there is a cable hole.
Ask about assembly too: are the tools in the box, and what language is the assembly manual in. Getting a large item up to your flat is something to agree with the seller in advance: delivery terms are set by the seller and shown on the product page.
